Among these, types A and B are the most easily spread. Symptoms include fever (usually higher than 38\u00b0C), headache, malaise, myalgia, and joint pain, followed by upper respiratory symptoms such as coughs and runny nose, which typically resolve after about a week. These are the characteristic symptoms of influenza. Compared to the &#8220;common cold,&#8221; the symptoms are more severe.<\/p>\n<p>    <\/span><\/p>\n<p>    <a id=\"inf005\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"dim\">Influenza transmission and prevention<\/div>\n<p>    <span class=\"usp\" ><br \/>\n    Influenza viruses are most commonly transmitted through droplets from sneezing, coughing, or saliva from infected individuals. However, influenza can also spread through contact with contaminated surfaces. Therefore, it is important to practice &#8220;hand washing&#8221; and &#8220;gargling&#8221; as ways to prevent infection. Disinfecting with alcohol is also effective against influenza viruses, so be sure to use alcohol for disinfection if available.<br \/>\n    <br \/>\n    Influenza viruses are also present in Indonesia, and there is a high likelihood that someone could bring the virus from countries vulnerable to infection during the winter season. Therefore, we recommend taking preventive measures to avoid contracting the influenza virus. One of the most effective ways to prevent or alleviate influenza symptoms if infected is through vaccination, so please consider getting vaccinated at the appropriate period for you.<\/p>\n<p>    <\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"internal-medicine\">\n<section id=\"faq\">\n<h1>Frequently Asked Questions<\/h1>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"ques\"><span class=\"\">Are there any cases where a patient should not or is prohibited from receiving the influenza vaccine?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ans\">Influenza vaccine is not recommended for those who have a history of allergic reaction or severe adverse reaction towards previous influenza or other vaccinations, components of vaccine such as eggs, and people with moderate to severe acute disease. Sometimes people with egg allergies can be given the vaccine, but in that case they must be vaccinated at a well-equipped hospital, and they must be observed for 30 minutes afterwards.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"ques\"><span class=\"\">How long does it take for antibodies to develop after the vaccine shot?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ans\">Once you get a flu vaccine, it takes up 10 to 14 days following vaccination before an immune response and protection develops. Optimal protection offered by the influenza vaccine lasts for 3\u20134 months following vaccination. It is recommended for people who live in northern hemisphere to get vaccination typically begins in September of each year and ends in December. For people who live in southern hemisphere, vaccination typically begins in April and ends in May. In Indonesia, Influenza vaccine can be given at anytime but it is recommended to be given starts in September-October.\n    <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"ques\"><span class=\"\">How long does the antibodies continue until?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ans\">It depends on the brand of vaccine you receive, but the vaccine we offer lasts for one year. The vaccine is effective for one year, although the antibodies are said to be at their highest during the first six months after vaccination. Flu viruses change quickly. Last year&#8217;s vaccine may not be effective against this year&#8217;s viruses.
